MY OWN JOURNEY into the Art of Reinvention started out of necessity, born from a place of hurt, confusion, and a deep desire for change. Life has thrown me many curveballs.
Things got messy, and I found myself on unexpected paths, often due to both my own choices and the choices of people I trusted. But instead of staying stuck, I decided to create a way forward.
Moving forward wasn’t just about breaking free—it was about moving through deep hurt, crushing disappointment, and the sheer shock of waking up to a life I couldn’t believe was mine.
GIVEN MY STUBBORN NATURE it took being fired from a senior position in healthcare (they called it “restructuring”) while on mat leave, no less—right after tearing my disc, (left dragging my baby around on a pillow - crawling was the only option initially) and facing the end of my marriage to realize, something had to give. I hit rock bottom, but I knew I had to get creative to bounce back.
I took a big leap of faith and started my own jewelry design business—no experience, just sheer determination. It meant learning a whole new skill, living on almost nothing financially, and diving headfirst into entrepreneurship. It was my first step toward reinventing myself, for both my kids and my own well-being. All I really wanted, though, was to be home with my newborn, tucked away in my jammies, away from the outside world. It was then I realized that, with a little risk and a lot of hard work, I could shape my career around my family.
I started building something from what seemed like nothing. I decided to turn my pain into progress, filling my life with adventure, freedom, and joy—for me and my children.
What began as a survival strategy soon became my lifestyle.
ALONG THE WAY, I REALIZED I was not alone. Many women feel stuck, afraid to make a change, and unsure of how to take that first step.
Maybe you can relate to feeling like there’s more to life than the obstacles, loneliness, or frustration you're facing right now. But embracing that "more" can seem difficult, overwhelming, and honestly, a bit like a fantasy.
It’s hard to imagine a way out when the challenges feel so big and the path forward isn’t clear.
After years of practice, I figured out the steps to overcome what seemed like insurmountable fear, use the resources around me, dream big, and make those dreams a reality.
