Ever feel like helping others in need is just too hard to figure out? Not sure how to help. Not sure if you have anything to offer. YES, YOU DO! Pick up some warm socks next time you are out. Ask your friends and colleagues to do the same. Make it a challenge at your work, or club or school! On November 10th meet me outside of the downtown YMCA to drop them off. If that doesn't work into your schedule, I will pick them up. Contact me to arrange! Take one step toward helping. Say, "YES, I CAN!" one pair at a time. Trust me, helping others, will help you! #strongertogether #togetherisbetter
Often we need more grace for others. We need a broader understanding of the challenges others have endured.
I firmly believe that we each must find a way to help others in whatever measure we can.
If not you, who then?
“4 minutes”
“4 minutes” was inspired by a conversation I had with Shannon The Rocket, on one of my morning walks.
“4 minutes” refers to the time it has been suggested that many people on the street can stay focused, due to
drug-induced states.
My purpose in sharing these stories is simply to introduce you to human beings living “less than” lives. Real people, most Londoners have never met and truthfully don’t want to meet. But we, the London community, have a devastating problem. Whether you ignore it or not, I encourage you to listen to these words before judging.
But let's begin with some tips on how to help those in need.
It was because of Liam I felt compelled to learn more about my neighbours. I haven't seen him in months. I'm afraid to know his status. https://bit.ly/3NIyMx4
Sadly Liam died on our streets. My heart is broken for a young man and his family. He changed my life.
